As the Senior Enlisted member of a 32 Soldier Civil Affairs Company, the First Sergeant is responsible for executing Civil Military Operations (CMO) in support of the Combatant Commander’s theater objectives and regional engagement strategies. As the First Sergeant of a military police brigade headquarters company consisting of 89 Soldiers, the First Sergeant advises the commander on all matters relating to enlisted Soldiers. They oversee the unit’s daily operations, including supply, maintenance, administrative, and training functions. The First Sergeant is responsible for unit discipline and standards enforcement, as well as the training and deployability of individual Soldiers. They develop and mentor junior Noncommissioned Officers within the unit.

In this role, the First Sergeant holds formations, instructs platoon sergeants, and serves as the senior trainer for all individual training that supports the unit METL (Mission Essential Task List). They act as the senior enlisted advisor to the commander and coordinate administrative and logistical support, including water and food service, mail, laundry, showers, maintenance, and evacuation of personnel and equipment. The First Sergeant serves as the First Sergeant for C Company, 369th Signal Battalion, 15th Regimental Signal Brigade. They directly supervise 11 Platoon Sergeants, three Operations NCOs, 36 Instructor/Writers, and over 500 Advance Individual Training (AIT) Soldiers.
