Voting Assistance Officer (VAO)

In the role of the unit Voting Assistance Officer, my primary responsibility is to assist Soldiers, civilians, and dependents in registering to vote. I ensure seamless integration with the in-processing procedures to achieve 100% coverage and maximize voter participation. To provide comprehensive support, I publish voting schedules for all states and territories and assist unit members in requesting absentee ballots. It is my duty to maintain up-to-date forms and instructions for all states and territories, facilitating the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) submission process. Additionally, I track unit member participation in the voting process and maintain voting program metrics, ensuring the effectiveness of the voting assistance program.
