Unit Movement Officer
As the Unit Movement Officer, my primary role is to keep the commander informed about the readiness status of the unit and serve as the liaison to logistics functions. I take charge of preparing the unit for deployment by arranging and coordinating the safe and efficient movement of personnel and equipment to training and exercise locations. Additionally, I am responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of all critical equipment and supplies. Ensuring personnel medical readiness, monitoring and scheduling required training, and obtaining necessary frequency clearances are also part of my duties. Moreover, I establish and maintain memorandums of agreement with support units.

In the capacity of a Unit Movement Officer, I provide advice to the commander regarding training, logistics, personnel, and unit mobilization readiness requirements. I ensure the unit maintains comprehensive mobilization plans, including vehicle load plans, unit movement plans, convoy clearance requests, and training and personnel requirements. Reviewing and implementing mobilization directives and regulations is an integral part of my role. I gather all the required data and prepare unit readiness reports, keeping the commander informed on Equipment on Hand (EOH), Equipment Readiness (ER), and other pertinent issues.

As the Unit Movement Officer, I am responsible for managing the daily operations and administration of unit readiness. I advise the Commander on training, logistics, personnel, and unit mobilization readiness requirements. It is my duty to ensure the unit develops and maintains comprehensive Mobilization Plans, such as the Annual Post Mobilization Training Support Report, Unit Alert Roster, and Unit Home Station Activity List. I gather the necessary data for the Unit Status Report and assist the Commander in preparing readiness reports. Monitoring the equipment on hand and the equipment readiness status of the unit is also part of my responsibilities.

My role as a Unit Movement Officer involves supervising the successful accomplishment of the Commander’s mobilization readiness objectives. I anticipate and recommend solutions to unit requirements across all aspects of unit readiness. Additionally, I play a key role in the daily supervision of training management, mobilization planning, supply, maintenance, and personnel functions related to Soldier welfare and mission capability. Acting as the commander’s representative and spokesman, I ensure the highest readiness status of the unit is maintained.

In the capacity of a Unit Movement Officer, I thoroughly review and exceed the unit’s mobilization readiness objectives. I represent the Commander when expressing concerns related to readiness. Preparing for and recommending solutions to unit deployment requirements are crucial aspects of my responsibilities. I maintain coordination with all other unit support functions on a daily basis to ensure readiness aligns with the mission, policy, and directives. Monitoring the medical readiness of all personnel and overseeing the unit’s Family Care Plan program are additional responsibilities to ensure the unit remains in the highest state of readiness.
