Standard Army Maintenance System-Enhanced (SAMS-E) Operator Duty Descriptions

SAMS-E Operator

The SAMS-E Operator serves as the operator for the Standard Army Maintenance System – Enhanced (SAMS-E) within an Ammunition Supply Point or Theater Storage Area. They are responsible for managing vehicle, equipment, and container maintenance and repair part supply functions. They submit maintenance requisitions and review and post all received supply transactions within SAMS-E. They conduct monthly reconciliation with the Supply Support Activity (SSA) and identify any inventory or parts requisition discrepancies. They provide reports to the supported battalion headquarters regarding supply and maintenance activities.

SAMS-E Operator

As a SAMS-E Operator within the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command (3ESC), this individual coordinates with the XVIII Airborne Corps to identify and support maintenance and supply priorities. They maintain equipment maintenance files, schedule repairs and maintenance services, and handle the issuance and receipt of parts. They are responsible for opening and closing work orders and submitting daily reports through SAMS-E. They also conduct monthly parts reconciliation and maintain hard copies of supply transactions and adjustment documents.

SAMS-E V1 Operator

The SAMS-E V1 Operator oversees all shop office functions and operations, including production control, Class IX ordering (repair parts), and man-hour accounting. They supervise SAMS-E V1 operators for all supported units and maintain control of SAMS-E V2. They also supervise quality control personnel and ensure that procedures are in place to monitor the quality of maintenance provided to supported units. Additionally, they provide maintenance reports to the supported battalion headquarters, providing the current status of all battalion equipment.
