SASMO NCOIC
The SASMO NCOIC (Sustainment Automation Support Management Office NCOIC) is responsible for the day-to-day management of all operations in support of the assigned unit, under the supervision of the next higher command. They have direct responsibility for SASMO property valued at over $50,000. Their duties include providing support for over 100 Logistical Information Systems (LIS) within the brigade, conducting training and oversight for section personnel on new equipment fielding, and ensuring the welfare and training of two NCOs and two Soldiers under their supervision.
Information Systems Analyst-SASMO
The Information Systems Analyst-SASMO serves in the Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO) as an analyst. They are responsible for the installation, validation, and maintenance of the Standard Army Management Information System (STAMIS) for the 4th Sustainment Brigade and III Corps’ separate units. They troubleshoot software and hardware issues related to STAMIS, ensure that all STAMIS systems are up to date with the latest Software Change Package (SCP), and handle the configuration of STAMIS systems on the network, including File Transfer Protocol (FTP) configuration.
Support Operations SGM
The Support Operations SGM (Sergeant Major) serves as the senior non-commissioned officer for the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade’s Support Operations. They are responsible for providing sustainment support to over 6,000 ground vehicles, equipment, and 155 rotary wing aircraft. Their duties include planning, coordinating, synchronizing, and managing sustainment support for the brigade, including fuel, ammunition, transportation, mortuary affairs, SASMO, and air and ground maintenance management. They are responsible for the leadership, mentorship, and training of 24 Officers, Warrant Officers, NCOs, and Soldiers under their command.
UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter Repairer/SASMO attached
The UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter Repairer/SASMO attached provides support for hardware, software, communication devices, local area networks (LAN), and wide area networks (WAN) for the Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation (ULLS-A). They assist users with system and network access, install and maintain satellite and information systems equipment valued at over $1,000,000, and oversee local networks including Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSAT), Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS), Combat Service Support Automated Information System Interface (CAISI), routers, switches, and other peripheral devices. They also provide training and assistance to administrative users within the battalion.
NCOIC, Combat Sustainment Support Battalion
The NCOIC of the Combat Sustainment Support Battalion’s SASMO is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and troubleshooting of 234 Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS) throughout the Multi-National Division – Baghdad Area of Operation. They provide communication support for Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSAT), Combat Service Support Automation Information Systems Interface (CAISI), and the Standard Army Maintenance System – Enhanced (SAMS-E). Additionally, they provide network technical training and guidance to two NCOs and six Soldiers under their supervision.
