Serves as a Mortuary Affairs Sergeant in one of the two active-duty Mortuary Affairs (MA) Companies in the Army. Performs duties such as supervising the reception and tentative identification of remains. Personally accountable for safeguarding and inventorying personal effects, as well as preparing accompanying documents for all remains. Supervises search and recovery operations and maintains responsibility for the morale, health, welfare, and training of ten Soldiers. Additionally, ensures the accountability and maintenance of equipment valued at over $150,000.
92M2O MORTUARY AFFAIRS SERGEANT
Serves as the Mortuary Affairs Sergeant at the Theatre Mortuary Affairs Evacuation Point, providing support to Operations New Dawn and Enduring Freedom. Holds responsibility for supervising the reception, processing, tentative identification, evacuation, temporary interment, and disinterment of deceased military and civilian personnel. Oversees the health, welfare, and training of six subordinate Soldiers and ensures the maintenance and accountability of assigned equipment worth $500,000.
92M3O MORTUARY AFFAIRS NCO
Serves as a Mortuary Affairs Liaison Officer, directly supporting NATO in the Regional Command – South and West, Kandahar, Afghanistan. Assumes direct responsibility for coordinating, assisting, advising, and executing Mortuary Affairs Operations for RC-South and West. Provides guidance on handling, processing, and shipment of remains to U.S. service members, Coalition Forces, and Afghan National Army. Conducts training for contingents and ANA on recovery and processing of remains. Reviews and revises the Mortuary Affairs SOP as necessary. Responsible for overseeing and supporting the Mortuary Affairs Collection Point and maintaining equipment valued at $500,000.
92M4O PLATOON SERGEANT
Serves as a Platoon Sergeant in one of the two U.S. Army rapid-deployment active-duty Combat Service Support Mortuary Affairs Companies. Supervises the establishment and operations of a mortuary affairs collection point and leads search and recovery efforts for deceased U.S. military personnel, U.S. civilians, and allied personnel. Manages the reception, inventory, and evacuation of personal effects, as well as mission essential records and reports. Directly responsible for the health, welfare, and training of 30 Soldiers. Maintains accountability and ensures the maintenance of equipment valued at over $1.5 million.
