Arms Room NCOIC
Serving as an Arms Room NCOIC in a reconnaissance troop assigned a mission in support of a deployed brigade support battalion combat team in Operation Over The Horizon, one is responsible for supporting over 90 soldiers. The NCOIC ensures the health, morale, welfare, and supervision of one soldier under their charge. They are also responsible for ensuring the proficiency of the soldier in skill level one tasks. Additionally, the NCOIC coordinates the troop’s deployment and redeployment operations and is accountable for the maintenance and accountability of over $3 million worth of MTOE (Modified Table of Organization and Equipment) and TPE (Table of Property and Equipment) equipment.
Arms Room NCOIC
Having served as an Arms Room NCOIC in a field artillery battery assigned a non-standard mission in support of a deployed light infantry brigade combat team in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) XI-XII, one provided support to over 60 soldiers. The NCOIC was responsible for the health, morale, welfare, and supervision of one soldier. They ensured the soldier’s proficiency in skill level one tasks and coordinated the battery’s deployment and redeployment operations. Moreover, the NCOIC was accountable for the maintenance and accountability of over $3 million worth of MTOE and TPE equipment.
Arms Room NCOIC
Having served as an Arms Room NCOIC in Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, at the National Training Center (NTC), one had a dual mission of Army doctrinal and Opposing Force training. Supporting over 380 soldiers during seven rotations, the NCOIC was responsible for the health, morale, welfare, and supervision of one soldier. They ensured the proficiency of their soldiers in skill level one tasks and were accountable for the maintenance and accountability of 1,367 sensitive items, totaling more than $11.5 million.
Unit Armorer
Serving as the Unit Armorer for a field artillery battalion supporting over 200 soldiers, one coordinates with leadership to ensure support for deployment and redeployment operations. The NCO is responsible for the accountability and maintenance of over $1 million worth of MTOE and weapons. They instruct soldiers on the proper care and maintenance of all assigned small arms, maintain hand-receipts for locally issued and deployed equipment, and perform tasks such as calibration, zeroing, and user maintenance of small arms. Additionally, the NCO identifies failures and arranges higher level maintenance when needed.
