As an 89A Stock Control NCO, my primary responsibility is operating the Standard Ammunition and Accounting System-Modernized (SAAS-MOD). I utilize both hardware and software components of the system to perform stock control and accounting procedures for ammunition, explosives, and associated explosive components. This includes maintaining records and ensuring accurate documentation of transactions such as issue, receipt, re-warehousing, shipment, turn-in, and maintenance transfer of ammunition. Additionally, I am proficient in creating Radio Frequency Identification System (RFID) tags and generating relevant reports. At the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), I contribute to intra-depot transfers, shipments, and receipts.

Standard Army Ammunition Accounting System-Modular (SAAS-MOD) Operator

While assigned as a SAAS-MOD Operator within an Ordnance Detachment deployed to Balad, Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 09-10, my primary role is to support the Accountable Officer of the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP). I ensure the accurate input and upkeep of all ammunition transactions on SAAS-MOD workstations, maintaining a high level of precision. Additionally, I am responsible for the timely collection and distribution of all Class V reports from the Balad ASP throughout the United States Division-Central (USD-C) area. As part of my duties, I am also accountable for the training, welfare, morale, and discipline of the soldiers under my supervision.

As an MOS 89A Ammunition Stock Control and Accounting Specialist, I am proficient in operating the Standard Ammunition and Accounting System-Modernized (SAAS-MOD) computer hardware and software. Utilizing both automated and manual records, I perform stock control and accounting procedures for ammunition, explosives, and associated components. This includes activities such as issuing, receiving, re-warehousing, shipping, turn-in, and maintenance transfer of ammunition. I am also skilled in creating Radio Frequency Identification System (RFID) tags and generating relevant reports. My responsibilities span across different levels of support, including the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), Division Ammunition Office (DAO), and the Materiel Management Center (MMC).
