Optical Laboratory Specialist
As the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of Vision Readiness, served in a tri-service multi-vision Optical Fabrication Laboratory (OFL) that supports TRADOC’s largest training installation and 60 subordinate optical clinics in the Southern Region Medical Command. Oversaw the management of a team consisting of four military personnel, eight Department of Defense (DOD) civilians, and ten contract employees. Led the annual production of over 170,000 pairs of prescription spectacles, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance. Held responsibility for the maintenance, inventory, and accountability of all OFL equipment and supplies, which had a value exceeding $1,500,000. Managed daily operations of the optical lab, overseeing single and multi-vision production activities.
Optical Laboratory Specialist
Assumed responsibility for the overall production of a multi-vision optical laboratory. Supervised a diverse workforce comprising two military personnel, 15 local national employees, and one Department of the Army Civilian. Ensured the efficient production and quality assurance of 6,063 pairs of prescription eyewear on a monthly basis. Managed the maintenance and operation of optical equipment and supplies valued at over $700,000. Directed section training, enforced supply conservation measures, and handled daily personnel actions. Provided guidance, accountability, and counseling for two junior enlisted Soldiers.
