Judge Advocate

Offers initial legal and administrative assistance to unit commanders and personnel; coordinates legal proceedings with overseeing legal office; prepares and handles legal documentation in support of courts-martial, non-judicial punishment, and other military justice matters; processes determinations of line of duty, separation board proceedings, and other administrative law concerns; supervises legal aid services, claims processing, and investigations; provides expert guidance to subordinates; maintains a comprehensive law/administrative library and section files and records; monitors and evaluates actions to ensure precision and prompt dispatch or resolution; concentrates on aspects impacting military operations: criminal law, legal aid, civil and administrative law, labor and employment law, international and operational law, and contract and fiscal law.
