Plumber/Pipefitter Sergeant
The Plumber/Pipefitter Sergeant serves in a Vertical Construction Company and is responsible for the supervision, training, welfare, and morale of 6 soldiers. They lead a team composed of Carpenters, Plumbers, and Electricians. Additionally, they are responsible for the maintenance, accountability, and safe operation of various equipment, including one HMMWV, one M929 5-ton, two 2KW generators, one three KW generator, and various sets, kits, and outfits valued at over $230,000.00.
21K Plumber
A 21K Plumber specializes in installing and repairing pipe systems, plumbing fixtures, and equipment. They have the ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications. Connecting pipe sections using appropriate valves, couplings, reducers, and other fittings through threading, bolting, and soldering is within their expertise. They also determine the layout and identify the types and quantities of materials required based on the provided drawings and specifications. Furthermore, they conduct inspections of plumbing facilities and ensure the implementation of safety protocols.
Plumbing Supervisor
The Plumbing Supervisor is responsible for directing and prioritizing improvement projects and maintenance of facilities. They oversee the installation and maintenance of pipe systems, plumbing fixtures, boiler controls, water purification and distillation systems, heating systems, water supply, and water distribution systems. Additionally, they are involved in maintaining pipe systems for wastewater, performing plumbing repairs and maintenance, and ensuring the proper functioning of plumbing fixtures, pipes, stacks, brackets, traps, vents, and insulation. They are also proficient in documenting and reading construction plans and drawings.
Plumbing NCOIC
The Plumbing NCOIC supervises a team of 9 Soldiers, overseeing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks. They are responsible for managing upgrade projects, preparing the section for field operations, and maintaining potable water systems. The Plumbing NCOIC also installs heaters, pipes, fixtures, and fittings, and maintains and rebuilds pump stations. They are knowledgeable in working with cadillac pumps and pressure switches, as well as maintaining water separation and raw sewage disposal systems. Regular inspections and maintenance of cross-connections are also part of their responsibilities.
