In 2004, the Engineer MOS changed from CMF 12 to CMF 21. In 2009, the Engineer MOS changed again, from CMF 21 to CMF 12.
Quarrying Specialist
The Quarrying Specialist is responsible for overseeing the erection and operation of rock processing equipment. They determine the appropriate screen sizes and crusher settings to produce aggregate according to specified requirements. Additionally, they direct the excavation of quarry rock to meet the desired sizes and tonnage of rock needed. As a blaster, they are skilled in operating rock drills and performing blasting operations. They assemble, adjust, and operate various equipment including crushing, screening, conveying, and washing units. In addition to their quarrying duties, they also assist in combat engineer missions.
Quarrying Specialist
The Quarrying Specialist is involved in moving earth, rock, and materials using heavy machinery to create foundations for airfields, roads, dams, and buildings. They operate powered machines to excavate, clean, crush, drill, and grade site layouts. In order to clear rock, they are trained to safely detonate explosives. The Quarrying Specialist also operates and maintains equipment such as air compressors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic-powered rock drills, rock crushers, and screening equipment. They are proficient in operating ancillary equipment like generators, conveyors, light sets, and pumps.
