MOS 29E, Electronic Warfare Specialist, was changed to MOS 17E, Electronic Warfare Specialist, in 2018.

17th Echelon Electronic Warfare (EW) Sergeant

Serves as the Senior Electronic Warfare Specialist in a Cavalry Squadron, composed of four troops and one Forward Support Company (FSC), with a total strength of 464 Soldiers; accountable for all EW training, intelligence preparation of the battlefield, planning, and execution of army EW ground and air operations; collaborates with higher-ranking units for Air Electronic Attack, Electronic Protection, and Electronic Support; responsible for the EW component of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP); resolves conflicts in the electromagnetic spectrum with the communications section; implements and maintains Standardized Procedures and Operations (SPOs); ensures the readiness of equipment valued at over $1.5 million; responsible for the well-being, training, and guidance of two Noncommissioned Officers (NCOs) and three Soldiers.


17th Echelon Brigade EW NCOIC (82nd Airborne Division)

Accountable for the well-being, morale, welfare, and training of subordinate NCOs; responsible for all administrative, training, and operational aspects of EW; assists in the integration of cyberspace electromagnetic operations; plans, allocates, and executes operations involving Army EW air and ground platforms; coordinates with higher-ranking units for Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) support; responsible for the EW component of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) and the orders production process; establishes, oversees, and monitors EW training at all levels; translates strategic guidance into tactical-level instructions; primary enlisted advisor to the Commander on matters related to EW.


17th Echelon Battalion Electronic Warfare Specialist S

erves as an Electronic Warfare Specialist for the 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery, 3rd Infantry Division, Division Artillery; accountable for all EW training, intelligence preparation of the battlefield, planning, and execution of army EW ground and air operations; coordinates with higher-ranking units for Air Electronic Attack, Electronic Protection, and Electronic Support; responsible for the EW component of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP); ensures the de-confliction of the electromagnetic spectrum with the communications section; implements and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


Electronic Warfare Specialist

Supervises the operation and maintenance of 42 Counter Radio-Controlled IED Electronic Warfare (CREW) Systems utilizing test equipment and computer systems with a total value of over $1.75 million; oversees proper Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and training on CREW Systems throughout HHT RTS; ensures all devices are updated with current firmware and threat loads as updates are released; reviews and stays up-to-date on intelligence reports related to the CREW/C-IED mission.


17th Echelon EW NCOIC

Serves as the senior Electronic Warfare (EW) NCOIC for the 1/25th Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT), with a worldwide mission to deploy in support of strategic, operational, and tactical-level operations; prepares and coordinates the Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) appendix to the brigade operations order; provides technical advice and assistance to the S2, S3, and S6 in integrating, synchronizing, and deconflicting electronic attack (EA), electronic protection (EP), and electronic warfare support (ES) into the maneuver commander’s concept of operations; plans and directs EW training for seven Battalions with 12 EW Sergeants (EWS).


EW advisor to Brigade Commander/Brigade-level Staff NCO

Recommended and requested Electronic Warfare assets and countermeasures to ensure mission success. Directed unit-level training and provided technical advice and assistance to Commanders and personnel to ensure the proper utilization of Electronic Warfare systems in both combat and training environments. Responsible for overseeing the preventive and corrective maintenance program, including the supervision of system maintenance performed by junior technicians, as well as maintaining all associated schedules, records, and publications.


17th Echelon Battalion Electronic Warfare NCOIC (MISO Group)

Accountable for the well-being, morale, welfare, and training of subordinate Electronic Warfare NCOs; responsible for integrating Electronic Warfare into Military Information Support Operations; responsible for disseminating the Common Operating Picture and EW information; prepares and coordinates the Electronic Warfare Appendix to the Operations Order; directs unit training and provides technical advice and assistance to commanders; coordinates planning for enduring missions and training across three different Combatant Commands.


17th Echelon Battalion Electronic Warfare NCO

Assigned as the Battalion liaison for training and maintenance for Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (CREW) equipment; supervises Company-level CREW operations and trains IK ASI Soldiers; responsible for integrating new EW equipment and making recommendations to battalion leadership; maintains various EW equipment and conducts training at the Battalion level; coordinates air EW support and other non-organic EW assets.
