The Aviation Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in aviation operations. They process flight plans and ensure compliance with flight rules and regulations. They maintain accurate flight information, including flight records and violations. They may also participate in the development and implementation of tactical rescue systems. Their responsibilities include safeguarding classified material, interpreting weather reports, and managing notices to airmen. They are knowledgeable in air navigation terminology and air traffic control advisory radio procedures. Additionally, they maintain individual flight and training records.
Aviation Operations Sergeant
The Aviation Operations Sergeant serves in a rapid deployment Attack Helicopter Battalion and assists the Senior Aviation Operations Sergeant in all aspects of Battalion Aviation Operations. They provide guidance and advice on job performance, ensuring that subordinates are competent in their military occupational specialties (MOS) and possess the necessary Army Warrior Skills for combat operations. They are responsible for the leadership, health, welfare, and professional development of a small number of Soldiers. Additionally, they oversee equipment accountability during movements.
Aviation Operations NCO
The Aviation Operations NCO is responsible for aviation operations within the Grafenwoehr Training Area (GTA). They plan, coordinate, and conduct safety analysis of aviation ranges and training facilities used by US, NATO, and multinational forces. They provide briefings on weapon utilization and safety implementation, ensuring compliance with Grafenwoehr Training Area SOPs to meet required readiness levels. They monitor maintenance and improvements of aviation live fire ranges and staging areas. They advise the Chief of GTA Range Operations on all aviation-related training matters.
Flight Operation NCO
The Flight Operation NCO serves as part of Task Force Phoenix in the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade. Their responsibilities include maintaining aviation operation files and records, preparing reports and schedules related to aviation operations, and displaying flight planning information. They maintain flying regulations, pilots’ information files, and navigational data. They are responsible for the supervision, morale, health, welfare, and readiness of a small group of junior enlisted Soldiers.
Flight/Base Operations Specialist
The Flight/Base Operations Specialist supervises a flight operations activity and oversees subordinates. They are responsible for preparing situation maps, operations orders, and coordinating cross-country and local flights with other agencies, including the FAA. They maintain flight information, records, and reports, as well as files on flying regulations and navigational aid information. They arrange ground services for transient aircraft and interpret weather reports. They schedule and dispatch aircraft, perform administrative duties, and assist in pre-accident planning.
