13J Senior Fire Control NCO
Assumes the role of the Senior Fire Control NCO within a Direct Support Towed Field Artillery Battalion; provides supervision over all fire direction operations, including operational preparations and management of fire direction operations; establishes and maintains communications across all mission command platforms associated with Fire Direction and Fire Control; oversees the operation and maintenance of Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems (AFATDS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS), primary Joint Capabilities Release (JCR), and primary tactical High-Frequency (HF) Radios; performs additional assigned duties.

Supervises all fire mission processing, fire support planning, fire support execution, movement control, field artillery mission support, field artillery fire direction operations, and fire plan scheduling; computes and verifies the accuracy of firing safety data on a monthly basis, while updating and maintaining all current situation data; plans, develops, conducts, and evaluates the 13A/J manual safety program; oversees the performance of fire control operators and manages organizational maintenance on section vehicles and equipment; directs troubleshooting of AFATDS hardware, software, database, and communications to ensure uninterrupted operations throughout the year.
Fire Control Sergeant
Serves as the Fire Control Sergeant within a M1068 vehicle in a M109A6 155MM Field Artillery Platoon with a worldwide contingency mission; supervises fire direction operations and communications setup and maintenance; coordinates fire mission processing, fire support planning, fire support execution, movement control, and entry of commander’s guidance; conducts troubleshooting of AFATDS hardware, software, database, and communications to ensure seamless coordination between the Fire Direction Center (FDC) and the Paladin’s computer systems; oversees the performance, training, and accountability of eight Soldiers and organizational maintenance on section equipment valued at over $500,000.
Fire Control Sergeant
Assumes the role of the Fire Control Sergeant within a 35-Soldier M119A2 105mm direct support Field Artillery Platoon with a worldwide contingency mission; assumes responsibility for the health, welfare, monthly counseling, development, and supervision of (#) Soldiers; conducts computer operations, including fire mission processing, fire plan scheduling, and database construction; responsible for the organizational maintenance and accountability of fire direction equipment valued at over ($); provides assistance to the Chief Fire Control Sergeant and performs those duties in their absence.

Assists the Senior Fire Control Sergeant and Operations SGM in supervising all fire control operations within the cannon battery and higher echelons; oversees fire direction operations, including operational preparations, communications setup and maintenance, fire mission processing, fire support planning, fire support execution, movement control, field artillery mission support, fire plan scheduling, and entry of commanders’ guidance; computes and verifies the accuracy of firing safety data; supervises the performance of operators, crews, and organizational maintenance on section vehicles.

Combat Developer for Command and Control systems Assumes the role of a Combat Developer for Command and Control systems, including AFATDS, Centaur, GDU-R, and Meteorological Systems within TRADOC Capability Management; serves as a knowledgeable Subject Matter Expert (SME) and advisor to TCM in developing, coordinating, reviewing, and integrating acquisition requirements into the Command and Control and Profiler program; ensures proper incorporation of doctrine, tactics, organization, training, and logistics into the system support modernization plan; collaborates closely with the program manager, the Army Staff, and other services to facilitate effective and timely system development.

Assumes the role of a Writer/Instructor within the TRADOC Capability Manager (TCM)- BCT Fires office, offering expertise in the field of 13D Subject Matter; provides support on current and emerging field artillery automation systems; develops and validates Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) that address the impact of automation systems on cannon artillery operations; collaborates with the Material and Combat Developer to stay up-to-date with changes related to assigned systems; applies risk management principles to daily duties; actively participates in meetings, tests, fieldings, and briefings as required; attends regular training courses to enhance professional development in the current position.
