12N38 Instructor

As an Instructor for the 12N1O Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course in the Horizontal Engineer Skill Division assigned to the 554th Engineer Battalion, I provide valuable supervision and technical training to approximately 2500 trainees annually. Through a combination of classroom presentations and hands-on demonstrations, I instruct trainees on operation procedures for engineer construction equipment. It is my responsibility to maintain and update course materials, conduct remedial training, as well as written and hands-on evaluations to award the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 12N. Moreover, I ensure the maintenance and accountability of four D7R dozers and four radios, valued in excess of $1,000,000.

12N3O Horizontal Construction Supervisor

In my role as a Horizontal Construction Supervisor, I oversee various engineer projects, including interpreting information on grade stakes and utilizing critical path methods. I have expertise in tasks such as clearing, grubbing, stripping, excavating, backfilling, stockpiling, hauling, and constructing ditches, among other heavy equipment operations. Additionally, I perform route reconnaissance and take responsibility for the health, welfare, and safety of over 10 soldiers. Maintaining high standards of personal appearance, I supervise level 10 maintenance and ensure accountability for both individual and unit equipment and property. Furthermore, I serve as an instructor for construction equipment, playing a crucial role in developing unit cohesion, fostering loyalty and commitment, and building spirit and confidence.

MOS 12N Platoon Sergeant

As the Platoon Sergeant for MOS 12N, my responsibilities encompass supervising and scheduling personnel and projects, overseeing workload assignments and project progress. I ensure the acquisition of necessary supplies and materiel, while also coordinating and prioritizing equipment maintenance. Additionally, I maintain accountability for both individual and unit equipment and provide comprehensive training on construction equipment use and operation. My expertise includes overseeing tasks such as clearing, grubbing, stripping, excavating, backfilling, receiving, hauling, spreading, and other heavy equipment operations. I prioritize risk analysis and site safety and security while prioritizing the health, welfare, and professional development of three Squad Leaders and 24 soldiers.

12N Heavy Vehicle Driver

In my role as a Heavy Vehicle Driver, I am responsible for the transportation of heavy equipment, including scrapers, dozers, backhoe loaders, skid steers, and hydraulic excavators. I proficiently interpret information on grade stakes, and conduct various tasks such as clearing, grubbing, stripping, excavating, backfilling, ditching, stockpiling, and pushing scrapers with tractor crawlers. Additionally, I skillfully cut and spread fills material using a scraper, as well as excavate, stockpile, backfill, and load with a loader. Assigned as a Team Leader, I prioritize the health, welfare, and safety of over five soldiers while ensuring adherence to personal appearance standards. Moreover, I maintain accountability for individual and unit equipment, provide individual and collective training, and actively contribute to unit cohesion, fostering loyalty, commitment, and building spirit and confidence through effective training, evaluation, coaching, and counseling.

I am responsible for the health, welfare, and safety of over 10 soldiers, ensuring adherence to personal appearance standards. Additionally, I maintain and account for individual and unit equipment and property. As a Squad Leader, I provide comprehensive individual and collective training, foster unit cohesion, loyalty, and commitment, and actively contribute to building spirit and confidence. I conduct training evaluations, offer coaching and counseling, and ensure the professional development of my soldiers.

Heavy Equipment Operator Team Leader

In my role as a Heavy Equipment Operator Team Leader, I provide valuable guidance to the Squad Leader on all section equipment and heavy construction equipment. I am responsible for tracking service and deadlines, ensuring the reporting and troubleshooting of maintenance reports. Additionally, I prioritize the health, welfare, training, discipline, and morale of one NCO and 11 soldiers assigned to the Support Platoon Heavy Equipment Operator section. Collaborating closely with the unit’s maintenance shop, I ensure the proper maintenance of section equipment, valued at over $3 million, to support combat readiness.
