09L Squad Leader

Serves as a Squad Leader for the Interpreter/Translator unit within an active duty Component Translator Company in the U.S. Army and Department of Defense; assumes responsibility for the Soldiers assigned to deployed and support roles in Interpretation/Translation duties; receives and communicates orders to subordinates; delegates tasks and responsibilities as needed; provides mentorship and counseling to Squad members on personal and professional matters; conducts inspections to ensure adherence to standards; ensures Soldiers possess and maintain all issued equipment in optimal condition; supervises a team of eleven Soldiers, providing necessary training and support; maintains accountability of all assigned Squad equipment to ensure the Squad can effectively carry out its mission; reports equipment and personnel issues to the Platoon Sergeant.

Interpreter/Translator Sergeant

Serves as a Sergeant within the Interpreter/Translator unit in an active duty Component Translator Company in the U.S. Army and Department of Defense; assumes responsibility for Soldiers assigned to deployed and support roles in Interpretation/Translation duties; serves as the Team Leader for Translator/Interpreter Company 52nd TICO, with a dual mission of training for deployment, combat readiness, and conducting Rotational Operations at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC); performs Simultaneous Interpretation tasks, utilizes Computer-Aided Translation Equipment, and oversees the development of Cultural Information Products; reviews Essential Elements of Information and develops Individual Language Training Plans; responsible for the combat readiness, training, health, morale, discipline, and welfare of six Soldiers and their families.
